Where to buy your new notebook: online or retail outlet
According to recent market trends, most people are purchasing their new laptop computers at retail outlets as opposed to online. We generally encourage our customers to never purchase a laptop online until it has been inspected at a retailer.
Our main purpose for this recommendation is ergonomics. You may often find the same notebook computer online for a cheaper price than at a retail store, so buying online is not necessarily a bad idea.
Before purchasing a laptop one should get a feel for it. Inspect the machine in person to determine that is the right size and weight. Often a notebook is purchased over the internet unseen, and when the product arrives it is too bulky for travel or too small for comfortable typing for long periods.
It is also a good idea to purchase an extended warranty. We have seen LCDs burn out after a few years, and motherboards destroyed due to excessive heat. In many of these cases the cheapest alternative for the manufacturer is to replace the entire laptop, instead of replacing the damaged parts which may no longer be in production.
